Lesya Yanush is a contemporary visual artist. Born in Ukraine, she moved to the state of Washington in her later youth. Art has always been a center point to her understanding and perception of the world, a context and lens of perspective through which she can both understand others, and feels she can be best understood by.
She came to art as a means of a medium, a language, through which she can speak most openly and freely – finding liberation in the texture and colors of her work. She invented a personal painting technique, crucial to the autonomy of her work, a layering of paint in a structural way that embodies waves, ripples, and textures. The layers of paint represent the layers of life: time, and understanding, communicating a moment of transition captured in the stillness of a canvas.
Lesya currently lives and works out of New York, NY, while her work has made home in many different parts of the world via the support and collection of many renowned art collectors.
